Powerboaters Are Stepping Up The Giving At Lake Of The Ozarks, Through Supercat Fest
Supercat Fest this month announced its new 52 Weeks of Giving initiative, a year-long effort dedicated to supporting local organizations and families in need. As part of this program, Supercat Fest announced a donation to the Gala of Trees, helping to purchase Christmas trees that will be auctioned off to benefit children and families so that every child can experience the joy of Christmas at the Lake.
Super Cat Fest West Sold Out
Opening Thursday, Super Cat Fest West presented by DCB Performance Marine and KICKER Marine Audio will command the docks and parking areas at Havasu Riviera Marina in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., for three days as it never has before. The third-year event under the direction of Lake Havasu City local personality Dave Johnson and Missouri’s Alvin Heathman of Missouri is sold out.

With a full week separating last weekend’s Super Cat Fest West event and this weekend’s Desert Storm Poker Run, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., locals have enjoyed a longer-than-usual break between the two blockbuster events. But the memories of the third-year, sold-out Super Cat Fest West are still fresh for exhibitors and participants who also will be in town for the upcoming Desert Storm happening.
Super Cat Fest West or The Desert Storm Poker Run?
The founder of River Daves Place, the go-to website for high-performance boating fans who call Lake Havasu home-water, Dave Johnson is a well-known figure in the Lake Havasu City, Ariz., community. Equally well-known in Missouri performance-boating circles, Alvin Heathman, his partner in producing Super Cat Fest West, lives at the Lake of the Ozarks and founded the original Super Cat Fest event at the waterway.
Super Cat Fest West ‘Hits It Out Of The Park’
Though the waters of Lake Havasu have calmed from last week’s Super Cat Fest West happening—and just in time for this week’s Desert Storm Poker Run—participants in the 120-boat event are still in a state of mild euphoria mixed with perhaps a touch of exhaustion. Four days of boating on the Colorado River-fed lake between California and Arizona combined with nightly parties on the Arizona side will do that to you.
